Veazie Veterinary Clinic offers several ways for our clients to fill their prescriptions. Our in house pharmacy has many of the regularly used pet medications. Many medications are available at local pharmacies and we can write a prescription or call it in to the client’s pharmacy of choice. In addition, specialty pharmacies offer a range of options not otherwise available locally.
In House Pharmacy
We have a fully stocked in house pharmacy with most commonly used medicines in the animal health care field. We constantly evaluate new drugs entering the market and update our stock. This helps us provide your pet with the most current and effective medicine. We have a wide variety of medicines from antibiotics and anti-inflammatories, to flea and tick control products.
We work closely with the doctors to meet your pet’s prescription needs, while understanding that owners are often operating under budget constrictions.
Local Pharmacy Prescriptions:
Often the medications we prescribe for your pet are available at human pharmacies. Because of their availability or affordability elsewhere we may choose not to carry these products. If this is the case we will send you home with a written prescription to be filled at the pharmacy of your choice.
Many pharmacies have healthy saver or $4 drug lists. You can look at the following pharmacies to see if they carry your pet’s medications:
Specialty Pharmacy Prescriptions:
Sometimes medications need to be specially formulated for pets, or can be made into flavored treats they like better. Other medications may need to be given some way other than by mouth, and are not easily found. In these cases, we can have a specialty pharmacies make the medication and ship it directly to you.
