In an effort to meet our client and patient's needs Veazie Veterinary Clinic offers several ways for our clients to fill their prescriptions. In addition to our in house pharmacy, we also offer online ordering, and can call in prescriptions to specialty pharmacies.
We have a fully stocked in house pharmacy which contains the most commonly used medicines in the animal health care field. We constantly evaluate new drugs entering the market and update our stock to provide your pet with the most recent and effective medicine. We have a wide variety of medicines from antibiotics and anti-inflammatories to flea and tick control products.
We work closely with the owner to meet pet's prescription needs while understanding that owners are often operating under budget constrictions.
Often many of the medications we prescribe for your pet are available at human pharmacies. Because of their availability or affordablity elsewhere we may choose not to carry these products. If this is the case we send owners home with written prescriptions to be filled at the pharmacy of their choice.
Many pharmacies have healthy saver or $4 drug lists. You can look at the following pharmacies to see if they carry your pet's medications.
Some medications need to be specially formulated for pets, or can be made into flavored treats and liquids to make it easier to give them. Additionally, some medications require non-oral methods of administration and are not easily found in pill form.
There are several specialty pet pharmacies that we recommend and use frequently.
We also have an online pharmacy so clients can order products to be mailed directly to them. For pets that are on long term medications or for annual routine parasite medications this can be a convienient option that saves you and your pet a visit to the vets office.
Alternativly some owners choose to use online pet pharmacies. However, we caution you to research the pharmacy carefully. For more information on safe sources of pet medication check out this informational page published by the FDA.
