Training
| There are many different ways to train you puppy. The most effective way that we have found is a training concept called 'Nothing In Life Is Free'. It is an easy concept to learn and everyone, even the youngest family member, can do it. Simply require your puppy to 'sit' or 'down' prior to feeding, petting, giving attention, etc. If the puppy doesn't follow the command ignore it for 5 minutes. This technique will establish your position of authority. Another advantage to this training method is that it takes no additional time; it is simply worked into your daily routine and interactions with the puppy. The theory behind this is that dogs prefer routine. Structure and consistency helps them feel secure. They then understand that people will take care of them. Most dogs just need to understand where they belong. |
